Eurojust’s work is guided by the principle: “Justice is our mission, cooperation is our strength”, adopted as our motto in 2025. This reflects our daily efforts, visible in the growing scale of our operations, our expertise in judicial cooperation, and expanding partnerships. By connecting national authorities across borders, Eurojust plays a vital role in the EU’s criminal justice chain and with partners beyond the EU, helping keep European citizens safe and ensuring justice is served.
In 2025 alone, Eurojust supported 13 946 cross-border criminal investigation cases, including 5 582 newly registered ones. In addition, we supported a record number of 412 joint investigation teams, with nearly half of these also receiving funding from Eurojust.
As criminal networks increasingly operate beyond Europe’s borders, our global network is vital to our work. Our worldwide reach continues to extend further and in 2025 Eurojust has concluded Working Arrangements with Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, South Korea and Uruguay, and welcomed the signature of the International Agreement between the EU and Lebanon on cooperation with Eurojust. Approximately 10% of our casework each year involves countries outside the EU, highlighting the importance of Eurojust’s reach and international cooperation.
Last year also marked the first evaluation of the Eurojust Regulation. The resulting report highlights the Agency’s achievements, results and added value, while also identifying areas where efficiency can be improved. This provides an important opportunity to further strengthen the effectiveness and value of our work for Member States, our EU partners and the citizens we serve. We very much look forward to the next steps towards a new Eurojust Regulation – and to an excellent 2026!
