The Maltese Desk is headed by Maria Baldacchino, who is the National Member for Malta since October 2023.

In 2022, the Maltese Desk was involved in 101 new cases, 7 coordination meetings, and 1 coordination centre.

National Member

National Member

Maria Baldacchino was appointed National Member for Malta in October 2023. Ms Baldacchino graduated in law in November 2018. In September 2019, she received her advocate’s warrant. Ms Baldacchino joined the Office of the Attorney General (The Public Prosecutor’s office in Malta) in January 2020 and was assigned within the International Cooperation and Criminal Affairs Unit, focusing mainly on matters related to mutual legal assistance and extradition requests. In August 2021, she was appointed as a Deputy to the National Member for Malta. Over the years, she has attended various trainings related to International Cooperation and has represented the Office of the Attorney General in various international conferences concerning criminal justice. In December 2022, Ms Baldacchino obtained her Masters of Law in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of London.

Assistant to the National Member

Stephanie Harris was appointed Assistant to the National Member for Malta in October 2023. Ms Harris graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in November 2021 and with a Master of Advocacy in March 2023. She joined the Office of the Attorney General in January 2023 and was assigned to the Mutual Legal Assistance and International Cooperation Unit.
