Eurojust and Georgia signed a Cooperation Agreement in March 2019, with the first Liaison Prosecutor Giorgi Gorgadze taking up his duties in June 2020 and ending in October 2025.
In 2025, the Georgian Liaison Prosecutor was involved in in 41 new cases, 7 coordination meetings and 4 joint investigation teams.
Mr Irakli Chilingarashvili took up his duties as the new Liaison Prosecutor for Georgia at Eurojust in April 2026. Prior to being appointed Liaison Prosecutor, he headed the International Cooperation Department at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia and has more than two decades of experience within the Georgian Prosecution Service, holding a range of roles throughout his career.
