Eurojust and Georgia signed a Cooperation Agreement in March 2019, with the first Liaison Prosecutor Giorgi Gorgadze taking up his duties in June 2020 and ending in October 2025.

In 2025, the Georgian Liaison Prosecutor was involved in in 41 new cases, 7 coordination meetings and 4 joint investigation teams.

Liaison Prosecutor

Mr Chilingarashvili Mr Irakli Chilingarashvili took up his duties as the new Liaison Prosecutor for Georgia at Eurojust in April 2026. Prior to being appointed Liaison Prosecutor, he headed the International Cooperation Department at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia and has more than two decades of experience within the Georgian Prosecution Service, holding a range of roles throughout his career.

As an expert in international judicial cooperation, he has contributed to a number of international projects implemented by the Council of Europe, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and other international organisations. He also represented Georgia in the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC).

Mr Chilingarashvili graduated from Tbilisi State University in 2005 with a Master of Law. He also attended various training programs and seminars organized by the US Government (Georgian Ministry of Justice Executive Training Program, George Mason University, USA, 2011; International Visitor Leadership Program: Towards a More Safe and Secure World: International Crimes, USA, 2016; Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, Budapest, Hungary, 2017).

Apart from his native Georgian, he also speaks English and Russian languages.
