In July 2025, the European Commission published its first evaluation of the Eurojust Regulation, examining its implementation between the end of 2019 and 2024. In such exercises, the European Commission assesses how well the law works in practice: whether it achieved its objectives, and how effective it has been.
In these years, Eurojust has functioned as a cornerstone of Europe’s criminal justice architecture. The period also brought significant changes to the work of Eurojust and the wider justice community.
This report, published as part of the Eurojust Annual Report 2025, describes how Eurojust faced these changes and what the result of the evaluation was.
