cover page

National approaches to the reimbursement of costs vary considerably. To provide an overview of these differences, the Sirius Project has prepared this compilation of country fiches on cost reimbursement. The objective is to increase awareness among competent authorities and other stakeholders of the potential cost implications associated with accessing electronic evidence held by service providers, particularly in a cross-border context.

This document presents information on the national frameworks of more than 40 EU and non-EU countries governing the reimbursement of costs incurred by service providers when providing data in response to official requests in the context of criminal investigations or criminal proceedings.

This document was prepared within the framework of the Sirius Project. The project has received funding from the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) under contribution agreement NDICI/2024/700002618.
