The fight against drug-related organised crime is a priority for the EU and its Member States. Following a proposal from the European Commission, endorsed by the Ministers of Justice from all EU Member States, the European Judicial Organised Crime Network (EJOCN) was officially launched in September 2024 with a broad and flexible mandate to address all judicial aspects of the fight against organised crime, with an initial focus on drug trafficking via European ports and other logistical hubs.
On 19-20 March, the EJOCN held its first plenary meeting, which brought together the appointed Members of the Network in a collaborative setting with the goal of establishing the necessary connections, organisation, and priority work streams to direct and govern the work of the EJOCN.
This report summarises the discussions of the participants.
