Victims of crime in the EU are entitled to a series of rights, regardless of their nationality, residence, the type of crime and the place where the crime was committed. The complexity of cross-border cases makes it especially difficult for judicial authorities to protect victims’ rights. Involving Eurojust early in the process helps to overcome these difficulties and ensure victims’ protection.

Eurojust supports national authorities and can help, in particular, when a case:

• impacts victims within the context of a cross-border investigation;
• involves victims of different countries in a national investigation.
