Prosecutor Ms Anikó Orosz has started her mandate at Eurojust as the new National Member for Hungary. She has been a member of the Hungarian Prosecution Service since 2003, specialising in cases involving the trafficking of human beings. At Eurojust, she will enable cooperation between the Hungarian authorities and their international partners on cross-border investigations.
Ms Anikó Orosz first served at a Budapest District Prosecution Office, where she worked as a prosecutor supervising investigations and representing the office in court. From 2010, she started working at the Chief Prosecution Office of the Capital in Budapest, and from 2012 she was placed at the International Legal Assistance Division of the Department for the Supervision of Investigations and Preparation of Indictments of the Office of the Prosecutor General. Here, she mostly worked on cases involving human trafficking. Since 2019, she has been seconded to the Cabinet of the Prosecutor General.
Commenting on her new mandate at Eurojust, Ms Orosz said: I am looking forward to continuing the active role of the Hungarian National Desk at Eurojust. Our work promotes effective and efficient international cooperation in criminal matters and provides valuable assistance to colleagues working in the field of justice, both in Hungary and abroad.
The Hungarian National Desk has worked on several cross-border cases together with their national colleagues and international counterparts. Through several forms of judicial cooperation, including joint investigation teams led by the Hungarian National Desk, investigations were able to move forward successfully.
