The European Judicial Cybercrime Network (EJCN) convened its 19th plenary meeting on 4 and 5 December 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination in the fight against cybercrime. The meeting, hosted by Eurojust, brought together 62 experts from 26 countries to discuss critical topics, including cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and data retention.

Participants explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in the fight against disinformation and hybrid warfare, and to promote the use of innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to support the work of judicial authorities.

A key aim of the meeting was to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices among participants, and to identify areas for future collaboration and mutual support. The network's members recognised that the current threat landscape demands a paradigm shift in the way judicial authorities collaborate and share intelligence in order to stay ahead of cybercriminals.

As the network approaches its 10-year anniversary next year, the meeting also provided a timely opportunity for the network to reflect on its progress and chart its future course. This introspection was crucial in shaping the EJCN's strategy and priorities, and was closely tied to its efforts to enhance cooperation with key stakeholders, including the European Commission, Council of the European Union, and Europol. By exploring ways to strengthen these partnerships, the EJCN aims to create a more robust and coordinated response to cyber threats, ensuring its continued leadership in the fight against cybercrime.
