On 14-15 May, Eurojust hosted a meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General and its member states, including the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. The meeting was a crucial step in Eurojust's efforts to deepen its cooperation with the GCC countries and bolster the global response to cross-border crime.

The two-day meeting featured a range of presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities, including sessions on Eurojust's casework, its role in combating money laundering and cybercrime, and the experience of its Liaison Prosecutors. The meeting builds on the fruitful cooperation and collaboration between Eurojust, the GCC and its member states, and is expected to contribute to a safer and more secure global community.

The visit enabled Eurojust to learn about the legal systems and challenges in judicial cooperation in the Gulf region, and to organise bilateral meetings between Eurojust and visiting delegations. By strengthening ties with the GCC and the Gulf countries, Eurojust hopes to enhance its ability to tackle global crime and promote international cooperation in the pursuit of justice.
