Lukáš Starý was appointed National Member for the Czech Republic at Eurojust in August 2026, after serving as Deputy National Member.
Mr Starý has worked at Eurojust since 2011 in different roles at the Czech National Desk, supporting Czech authorities in judicial cooperation for cross-border criminal investigations across Europe and beyond.
During his time at Eurojust, Mr Starý has been actively involved in several thematic teams, including as Chair of the Trafficking Team and the Board on Relations with Partners. He is currently a member of the Economic Crime Team and the Advisory Group on Organisational Development.
Mr Starý holds Master’s degrees in Law, and in International Relations and European Studies from Masaryk University in Brno. He started working at the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Karviná in 2003. Before joining Eurojust, he worked as a prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Karviná, branch Havířov, and at the International Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
Radek Soukup was appointed Deputy to the National Member for the Czech Republic at Eurojust in August 2026. In his case, this marks a return to Eurojust, as he already worked at Eurojust from 2017 to 2018 (as a Seconded National Expert).
Mr Soukup is a career public prosecutor with 23 years’ experience. In the Czech Republic, he initially worked at the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Pardubice, from where he moved to the Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Hradec Králové after 10 years.
In 2018, he was appointed a public prosecutor at the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Czech Republic, where he served as Deputy director of the International Department before joining Eurojust.
Mr Soukup holds Master’s degrees in Law from Palackého University in Olomouc. Before becoming a public prosecutor, he worked for three years as an investigator with the Criminal Police Service. For several years now, he has been a lecturer at the Judicial Academy of the Czech Republic, where he specializes in training in the field of international judicial cooperation. Since 2019, he has also been the EJN contact point.
As part of his non-work activities, he spent many years volunteering at “Bílý kruh bezpečí”, a Czech non-profit organization that provides free, professional and confidential support to victims, witnesses and the bereaved following crimes and domestic violence.
