Mr Filippo Spiezia was appointed Eurojust National Member for Italy in September 2025.
Mr Spiezia is an Italian magistrate with over 30 years of experience, including 11 years at Eurojust. Prior to his return to the Agency, Mr Spiezia served as the Head Public Prosecutor of Florence for two years.
From 2016 to 2023, Mr Spiezia was the National Member for Italy at Eurojust. During this tenure, he also served as Vice-President of the Agency from 2016-2020.
Eurojust is a connecting thread in the international career of Mr Spiezia. Before his first mandate as National Member, he was Deputy National Member from 2008 until 2012. Between 2012 and 2016, he served as Deputy National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor in the Italian National Anti-Mafia Directorate in Rome, while also being a national correspondent for Eurojust.
In 2011 and 2012, Mr Spiezia was a member of the Experts Group on Trafficking in Human Beings for the European Commission.
Mr Spiezia began his career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor in Salerno in 1990, after graduating in law from the University of Naples Federico II in 1986. He is fluent in Italian, English, and French, and has received several awards for his work, including the prestigious Paolo Borsellino Prize in 2018. In 2021, he published a book on "Criminal Threats and EU Response".
Mr. Francesco Testa was appointed Deputy National Member for Italy in June 2025 Mr. Francesco Testa began his career in 1997 as a Public Prosecutor in Catania, focusing on investigations and prosecutions involving mafia-type criminal organisations, organised crime, and drug and arms trafficking at both national and international levels. In 2013, he was appointed Legal Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Italy to the International Organisations in Vienna, working with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. He also served as a member of Italy’s Expert Team for the first cycle of the UN Review Mechanism for the Implementation of the Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. In 2017, he returned to Italy as Chief Prosecutor of Chieti, where he oversaw investigations into corruption, public procurement-related crimes, and other offenses against public administration. His work involved the coordination of international cooperation efforts, including mutual legal assistance and extradition procedures. Before his appointment at Eurojust, he served in Rome as a European Delegated Prosecutor, focusing on crimes affecting the financial interests of the European Union. Throughout his career, he has held various high-level positions, including serving in the Cabinet of the Minister of Justice and as the Chair of the UN Conference of the Parties Working Group on the Smuggling of Migrants. He is also a recognized expert and lecturer, having led numerous specialised trainings, workshops, and keynote sessions on topics such as criminal law and procedure, cybercrime, electronic evidence, organized crime, money laundering, and international cooperation. He has published widely on these subjects.
Mr. Aldo Ingangi was appointed Assistant to the National Member for Italy in June 2020.
Mr. Gianluca Forlani was appointed Assistant to the National Member for Italy in February 2023.
