Tri-regional event on strengthening judicial cooperation to tackle drug trafficking routes via West Africa, the Western Balkans and EU ports held at Eurojust
Jointly organised through the Western Balkans Criminal Justice (WBCJ) Project and the European Judicial Organised Crime Network (EJOCN), on 12 February, 2026, Eurojust brought together prosecutors from 20 jurisdictions representing the Western Balkans, EU Member States and West Africa, with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), to address emerging drug trafficking routes and strengthen judicial cooperation.

The 2nd Plenary Meeting of the European Judicial Organised Crime Network (EJOCN) took place on the 29th -30th October 2025, at Eurojust.
Participants gathered to discuss contemporary developments, build professional relationships and develop strategies to tackle organised drug trafficking and related prosecution challenges. Chaired by the Danish Presidency, the event addressed synergies with the other European Judicial Networks hosted at Eurojust, and featured case examples and thematic deep dives into evolving drug routes and encryption related challenges. It also conducted practitioner workshops to foster peer-learning and collaboration, and held an operational round table for the exchange of non-personal information to share expertise among practitioners and enhance cooperation efforts.

Joint EJCON-EL PACCTO 2.0 bi-regional meeting
The European Judicial Organised Crime Network (EJOCN) and EL PACCTO 2.0 held a bi-regional meeting of prosecutors on drug trafficking investigations in ports at Eurojust headquarters in The Hague on 29-30 September 2025. The event, which was attended by prosecutors from EU and Latin American countries, aimed to share expertise and develop mutually supportive strategies to tackle drug trafficking via ports by organised criminal groups.

First Plenary Meeting
The EJOCN held its first Plenary Meeting on 19-20 March 2025. Participants gathered to discuss the functioning and working areas of the network, establish its immediate and long-term priorities, and build working relationships among its Members. Chaired by the Polish Presidency, the event covered presentations on the latest casework and policy developments in the fight against organised crimes groups and drug trafficking, conducted workshops to establish the guidelines and work plan of the Network, and held a closed session for the exchange of non-personal operational information to share expertise among practitioners and enhance cooperation efforts.

Launch Event of the Network.
On 25 and 26 September 2024, Eurojust organised and hosted the EJOCN launch event. During this meeting high-level representatives and prosecutors appointed by EU Member States, as well as Eurojust, Europol, the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA), the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and the European Commission exchanged views, needs, expectations and approaches on the fight against drug-related organised crime; and focused on the potential scope, vision and practical functioning of the EJOCN.
