Denmark has developed an effective model for addressing IP crime, through the centralisation of investigative and judicial functions and the establishment of a robust institutional framework, reinforced by informal and highly effective collaborations between partner agencies and rightholders. Political awareness of the risks and challenges related to IP infringements are high, driven by dialogues between practitioners and policy-makers, the active involvement from rightsholder associations and a dynamic media sector that reports extensively on the outcomes of criminal cases and the efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities. Together, these elements have helped to shape a strong and proactive response to the evolving threats in the IP crime landscape in Denmark.
