The Hague, 18 July 2013
Eurojust is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Annette Böringer as the new National Member for Germany at Eurojust, replacing Mr Hans-Holger Herrnfeld
Prior to joining Eurojust, Ms Böringer was Head of the International Legal Cooperation Division at the Federal Ministry of Justice, Berlin. She has more than 19 years’ experience as a judge and prosecutor. Following law studies in Trier, she began her career at the Regional Court and Public Prosecution Office in Koblenz. Ms Böringer also worked for years as Senior Public Prosecutor at the Federal Court of Justice dealing with terrorism cases, as National Correspondent to Eurojust and as EJN contact point. As German Liaison Magistrate at the French Ministry of Justice in Paris, she was responsible for enhancing bilateral judicial cooperation.
Ms Böringer said the following regarding her appointment as National Member: “My appointment as National Member for Germany at Eurojust is an important step in my professional career. In my new position at Eurojust, I intend, together with my dedicated colleagues from the German National Desk, to strengthen cooperation in legal matters between Germany, the other Member States of the European Union and Eurojust. I hope to accomplish this goal by applying the international experience I gathered in legal cooperation with foreign partner States working at the German Federal Ministry of Justice, in terrorism cases at the Office of the German Federal Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice, in bilateral judicial cooperation as Liaison Magistrate in Paris, and in the fight against drug trafficking, organised crime and white-collar crime as public prosecutor and judge.”
