Yesterday, Eurojust hosted the courtesy visit of the newly appointed Portuguese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Rosa Maria Bettencourt Amarante de Ataíde Batoréu Salvador e Brito.
Ambassador Batoréu met the President of Eurojust, Ms Michèle Coninsx, and the National Member for Portugal, Mr António Cluny, as well as members of the Portuguese Desk and the Vice-President, Mr Klaus Meyer-Cabri.
The Ambassador was given a general overview of the casework and strategic activities of Eurojust, including its crime priorities and working tools.
Ambassador Batoréu, a career diplomat and jurist, took up duties in the Netherlands in October 2016. She had served in Africa, Denmark, New York, Washington, D.C., and Brussels, as well as holding several high-level positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Portugal.
