Today, Ms Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, and Ms Malči Gabrijelčič, Chair of the Eurojust External Relations Team, hosted a visit of 45 Provincial Chief Public Prosecutors from Thailand. The delegation was led by Mr Pongsak Keawkamol, Inspector General of the Office of the Attorney General.
The Office of the Attorney General of Thailand had expressed a desire to learn more about Eurojust in an effort to make their Office a leading judicial organisation based on the Eurojust model.
Ms Coninsx welcomed the delegation and delivered a presentation on the role, activities and recent developments of Eurojust. Ms Gabrijelčič followed with a presentation on Eurojust’s relations with third States.
Thailand is an important member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), established 50 years ago. The current framework for cooperation between Thailand and the European Union is the EC-ASEAN Agreement of 1980.
Thailand has appointed two Eurojust contact points.
