Today, H.E. Antti Häkkänen, Minister of Justice of Finland, visited Eurojust. The Minister, accompanied by Asko Välimaa, Permanent Secretary, and H.E. Katri Viinikka, Ambassador of Finland to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and their high-level advisors, met with Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, and Piia Vottonen, National Member for Finland.
The meeting allowed the Minister and his delegation to learn more about the operational and strategic work of Eurojust in the fields of counter-terrorism, cybercrime and e-evidence, and current legal and judicial challenges. The cooperation between Eurojust and other EU agencies, and the role and tasks of the Finnish Desk at Eurojust, were also discussed.
Minister Häkkänen was appointed to his position as Minister of Justice in May 2017. Since April 2015, he has served as a Member of Parliament. He also served on many committees. He is Vice-Chair of the National Coalition Party. He served as Special Adviser to the Prime Minister from 2013 – 2014.
