Polish Minister of Justice HE Marek Biernacki and Undersecretary of State Wojciech Węgrzyn met on 18 December with the President of Eurojust, Michele Coninsx, and the National Member for Poland, Mariusz Skowroński, at the Ministry of Justice in Warsaw.
This meeting was a follow-up to a bilateral meeting held at Eurojust on 29 August of this year between Ms Coninsx and Mr Węgrzyn.
The Minister expressed his appreciation for the role played by Eurojust in judicial cooperation. He stated: ”What I see as particularly important is the recognisability of Eurojust not only by politicians but also, first and foremost, by practitioners who, in the course of their everyday practice, prosecute the perpetrators of the gravest crimes, and are many a time assisted by Eurojust in their work.”
Among the topics discussed during the meeting were the special role of Eurojust and the establishment of the EPPO and its privileged relationship to Eurojust.
On 19 December, Ms Coninsx met with the Board of Directors of the National School of the Judiciary and Public Prosecution in Kraków. She gave a presentation on Eurojust to students and met afterwards with Judges.
